Shop small businesses and you are supporting a community and if you live in that area you are keeping your money local - you are investing in your neighbors and friends. A purchase at a small business may be the difference between life and death of that business now more than ever. Don't let big corperations get all the power and take over more of the country than they already have.
Sometimes you may even have a chance to support 2 businesses for the price of even, ( If a small business is selling goods from another small business. ) or in my case 3 for the price of 1 ! When you buy AOS organic skin care from my shop, Alluring Face Pdx, not only are you supporting me and AOS organic skin care you are supporting local farmers ( most the ingredients are locally source and all are Fair Trade ).
Come into Alluring Face Pdx for a treatment or check aosskincare.com and find a skin care product, hand wash, salve etc. for you or friend and then contact Alluring Face Pdx to place order- and help save 3 small businesses for the price of 1 !
Waxing and threading, no, I'm not talking about life in the 1800's with candle and clothes making, I'm talking about the two most popular ways to remove hair in 2020 (which were invented around 1150 BC).
Waxing: A process of removing unwanted hair from part of the body by applying wax and peeling off the wax and hairs together.
Threading: A method of hair removal in which unwanted hairs are plucked out by using a specific type of twisted cotton thread.
Waxing is good for removing the body hair. The skin on the body is thicker then that of the face. The epidermis ( the outer most layer of skin ) is composed of up to 7 layers and every time you wax, if done right, only a few of those layers are pulled off along with most of the hairs. ( If done wrong too many layers of skin are pulled off causing scarring. )
Threading is good for removing the face hair. The face, especially the eye area, is the most delicate skin with a thinner layer of fat under the skin and therefor more prone to scarring. Threading does not remove any skin and gets all those little hairs ( that waxing can't always get ) from the root without risk of scarring.

I see people around me getting COVID fatigue and then cases COVID go up. But that is not me. I am doing everything I can to keep myself and those around me safe at home, at work and everywhere in between. Here is my work checklist:
1. Wearing 2 masks at all times.
2. Wearing a face shield over masks when working on clients.
3. Sanitizing work space after every client with cleanser that kills 99.9% of all germs.
4. Running a fan for air circulation.
5. Taking everyone's temperature before they come in the shop.
6. Having one way walkways.
7. Limiting the number of clients in shop.
8. Lots of hand washing.
9. A new pair of disposable gloves with each client.
10. Making sure everyone who comes in has not traveled recently, not been around anyone with COVID, and has been wearing a mask when around others.
Its a little bit more work but totally worth it to be able to safely provide people with their self care through the services-threading, tinting, lash extensions, facials and microdermabrasion at my shop Alluring Face Pdx.
2020 has been ugly but your brows don't have to be. Get your best brows with threading. Do you like the results of getting threading on your brow and or your face or want to try threading out for the first time but worry about getting and spreading COVID ? I do and as a small business owner I also worry about spreading it to my clients. That is why I switched to a method of threading that does not include holding the thread in my mouth but instead is looped into the shape of the number eight ( it kind of looks like I'm playing that old school game crazy eights on the face). Doing this method allows me to keep my nose and mouth double masked while also wearing a shield to protect us both. This style of threading is just as effective and efficient as the method of holding the thread in the mouth or around the neck.
In addition to a different method of threading I also sanitize my shop after every client, run a fan at all times, take clients temperatures and as some safety questions before they enter shop and just like before COVID lots of hand washing and sanitizer.
With the wearing of masks the brows and eyes are more attention then ever so book a appointment with alluringfacepdx.com and get your brows on point.
PS - threading is also a great way to take a break from politics and other stressors !
1. Don’t visit a steam room.
2. Don’t wash your face.
3. Try not to touch face, especially no picking ( always good not just after facials ).
4. Avoid the sun as much as possible and wear sunscreen ( again, always a good idea not just after facials).
5. No other procedures at home or spa for 72 hours ( don’t want to sensitize the skin ).
6. No make-up.

“High frequency facial machines work in conjunction with high frequency electrodes which are made of clear tempered glass and come in a variety different shapes and sizes to facilitate the treatment of various contours of the face and body. When the high frequency electrode is firmly inserted into the high frequency hand piece, a gentle alternating electrical current is generated by the high frequency machine which then passes through the attached glass electrode upon contact with the skin. This contact ignites the inert gas within the electrode which produces healing electrical light energy and unstable oxygen which instantly converts into purifying ozone. In other words, when mixed with the air outside of the electrode, the electrical current infuses the skin with rejuvenating oxygen molecules and a therapeutic zapping or tingling sensation is experienced.” Joyfulyoga
What a difference lash extensions, tinting, threading and microdermabrasion facials can make!
I started Alluring Face Pdx in 2013 because I wanted to help people feel good about themselves on the outside so they would have the confidence to be who they are on the inside. The services that I offer, threading, tinting, lash extensions, facials and microdermabrasion, are services that I like to have done on me to feel better about myself. My business is unique in that it offers the aforementioned services under one roof. For now I enjoy being a sole proprietor ( a one woman show ) but who knows what the future will bring ! - Kara
Brow shape matters because it helps to balance features, frame your face, make you look happier, and look younger.
Oval face: prominent cheekbones, forehead larger then cheeks tapering down to a narrow chin.
Round face: face widest at cheeks and face is as long as it is wide
Long face: jawline, cheekbones and forehead are all approximately the same width and face tapers to a narrow chin
Square face: jawline, cheekbones and forehead all about the same width and squared jawline is the most prominent feature
Heart face: is like the oval face except chin is more pointed
Diamond face: very angular face and is wider at the temples and forehead is short ( not common )
